THE World University Subject Rankings is a ranking organization that evaluates universities using 18 performance indicators under five main categories: teaching, research volume, research quality, industry collaboration and international outlook.
Gazi University appeared in seven different fields in the THE 2026 World University Subject Rankings and improved its ranking performance in many categories.
Notable Progress in Education and Computer Science:
One of the prominent developments in the ranking occurred in Computer Science. In this field, the University rose from the 801-1000 band to the 601-800 band, entering the top 60% among 1,165 universities.
A similar success was recorded in Education. Globally, the University rose from the 501-600 band to the 401-500 band, reaching the top 55% among 830 institutions evaluated in this field. In the Türkiye ranking, it reached the 4-7 band among 44 universities, placing within the top 12.5%.
General Evaluation in Other Fields:
The University improved its percentile in Physical Sciences from 84.5% to 75.2%. In Life Sciences and Medical Sciences, it maintained its current position despite the increase in the number of universities evaluated. A stable performance was also shown in Arts and Humanities and Engineering.
Position in the Türkiye Ranking: Within Türkiye, the University strengthened its position in most fields. It ranked in the 10-14 band among 20 universities in Computer Science, the 6-17 band among 43 universities in Life Sciences, and the 23-39 band among 56 universities in Physical Sciences.
Gazi University THE World Subject Ranking Comparison (2025-2026): Arts and Humanities improved from 90.1% to 85.7% and was evaluated as stable. Computer Science improved from 80.2% to 60.1%. Education improved from 71.8% to 54.2%. Engineering improved from 75.6% to 72.4% and was evaluated as stable. Life Sciences improved from 78.8% to 74.4% and was evaluated as stable. Medical Sciences improved from 78.3% to 73.2% and was evaluated as stable. Physical Sciences improved from 84.5% to 75.2%.
Gazi University THE Türkiye Subject Ranking Comparison (2025-2026):
Arts and Humanities improved from 80.0% to 65.6%. Computer Science improved from 78.9% to 60.0%. Education improved from 28.6% to 12.5%. Engineering improved from 57.8% to 51.9% and was evaluated as stable. Life Sciences improved from 35.5% to 26.7%. Medical Sciences improved from 27.5% to 23.0% and was evaluated as stable. Physical Sciences improved from 70.7% to 55.4%.
