The Research University Monitoring, Evaluation and Executive Board (İDY) meeting was held in the Rectorate New Senate Hall under the chairmanship of Gazi University Rector, Prof. Dr. Uğur Ünal. The meeting was attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Serhat Karyeyen, Rector’s Advisor and Social Contribution Coordinator Prof. Dr. Selami Candan, members of the İDY Board, deans and vice deans responsible for research and development (R&D) activities, vocational school directors and deputy directors responsible for R&D.

Prof. Dr. Uğur Ünal thanked university administrators and academic staff for the University’s rise by two places to 13th place in the A2 category in the latest research universities ranking. He noted that many activities are being carried out to maintain the University’s position in the research university ranking. One of these activities is the target indicators assigned to units; progress is monitored not by comparing units with one another, but by taking each unit’s average performance over the last three years as a reference. Prof. Dr. Ünal also stated that, because Gazi University is a research university, a project budget of 70 million TL under ADEP (Research Universities Support Program) has been allocated to the University.

Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Serhat Karyeyen provided information about the latest status of the University’s 2025 target indicators. Following his presentation, certificates of appreciation were presented to the administrators of the six units that ranked highest based on the 2025 target indicators: 1. Faculty of Pharmacy, 2. Faculty of Technology, 3. Gazi Faculty of Education, 4. Faculty of Engineering, 5. Technical Sciences Vocational School and 6. Faculty of Architecture.

The meeting concluded after Prof. Dr. Serhat Karyeyen’s presentation on the 2025 INCITES publication data, the rankings of 23 principal and 10 monitored research universities, and the updates to the 2026 target indicator definitions.
