Our University Athletes Completed the FISU University World Cup Combat Sports with 4 Gold and 4 Bronze Medals

Athletes of our university continue to achieve successful results in national and international competitions. Our athletes have made us proud with their achievements at the FISU World Cup University Combat Sports, organized in Samsun under the coordination of the Turkish University Sports Federation (TÜSF), Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU), Samsun Metropolitan Municipality and Samsun Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports. The athletes of our university showed great success in the organization and completed the championship with 4 gold and 4 bronze medals.

While Merve Topuğlu (sambo 72 kg), Burak Özdemir (karate kumite 60 kg) and Enes Özdemir (karate men's individual kata) each won a gold medal in the organization, the karate men's team (kata) consisting of Eray Karaboğa, Hüseyin Can Göksu and Ömer Berat Kaynar also succeeded in winning a medal. Gamze Arife Temel (muaythai 67 kg), Yusuf Hamza Işık (wrestling freestyle 79 kg), Nurullah Oyan (51 kg box) and Emir Büyükdağ (91 kg box) won bronze medals in the organization.

Boxing, wushu, muaythai, karate, sambo and wrestling sports took place in the Fisu University World Cup Combat Sports organization held between September 21-30, 2022. Our university participated in the organization with a total of 12 athletes, 5 in karate, 2 in muaythai, 3 in boxing, one in wrestling and one in sambo.
