At the 9^th of Tuesday Coferences,"Nanoscience and Nanotechnology: Developments, Applications" was discussed. Prof. Dr. Şakir Erkoç, who is Retired Faculty Member of METU Department of Physics, attended the conference.

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız made the opening speech of the program. Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız stated that Gazi Faculty of Education was founded in 1926. He stated that the faculty is very well equipped and has a very good academic staff. Our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız stated that one in three teachers in Turkey today is a graduate of Gazi Faculty of Education.Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız has expressed thanks to Prof. Dr. Mahmut Selvi who is Dean of the Gazi Education Education Faculty. Additionally, thanked to who contributed to the organization of the program, Prof. Dr. Şakir Erkoç, who participated in the program as a speaker as well.

After the speech of our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız, Prof. Dr. Şakir Erkoç's presentation was started.Prof. Dr. Şakir Erkoç gave information about the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology. Prof. Dr. Şakir  Erkoç explained the developments in nanotechnology in its historical dimension.
