Aygül Caparov, wife of President of Kyrgyzstan Sadır Caparov, who made an official visit to Turkey, visited our University with Ainura Omokeeva, the wife of the Kyrgyz Ambassador and their accompanying delegation. Gazi University Rector, Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Bekir Buluc and Prof. Dr. Ramazan Bayındır, Advisor to the Rector Prof. Dr. Alper Ceylan, Dean of Gazi Education Faculty Prof. Dr. Mahmut Selvi, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Mustafa N. İlhan, Social Affairs Institution Coordinator Prof. Dr. Selami Candan and Deputy Secretary General Raşit Yıldırım attended the reception that took place at the Rectorate meeting.

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız made a presentation about our university's projects, collaborations and academic capacity at the Mimar Kemaleddin Hall. Giving information about the history of our university, Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız said that Gazi University played a role in the establishment of Çorum Hitit University, Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University, Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, Kastamonu University and finally Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University.

Stating that 44.236 students are studying at the university, Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız expressed that there are 3,289 academicians, including 922 professors, 356 associate professors, 221 doctoral faculty members, 558 lecturers and 1,182 research assistants serving.

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız said that a total of 156 Kyrgyz students have graduated from our university so far, including 98 undergraduate, 1 vocational school, 1 college, 46 graduate and 10 doctorate students. Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız stated that 17 Kyrgyz students, including 16 undergraduate and 1 doctorate students, continue their education.

He reminded that there is a cooperation protocol between our university, Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University and Kyrgyzstan International University. Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız also made suggestions for cooperation that will strengthen the bond between our University and Kyrgyzstan universities. After the presentation, a mutual exchange of gifts was made.

The visit, which started in Mimar Kemaleddin Hall, ended after visiting the Rectorate Painting and Sculpture Museum, Practice Kindergarten, Central Library, Gazi Education Faculty Wildlife Museum and the biology and application laboratories within the university.
