The 12th Science Conference organized by the Faculty of Technology of our University was held online under the title "Opportunities and Innovations in Artificial Intelligence" . Gazi University Technology Faculty, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Faculty Member Prof.Dr. Çetin Elmas  was a  speaker at the conference which was attended by faculty members, lecturers and guests

Prof. Dr. Çetin Elmas, who started his speech by mentioning the definitions of intelligence, and artificial intelligence, said, "Wisdom; the ability to think, understand, comprehend, make decisions and take precautions. The mind is innate, acquired later and not static. On the other hand, Intelligence is all the ability to perceive, judge and draw conclusions. Intelligence is innate and not static. It can be improved with education and training."

Prof. Dr. Elmas defined artificial intelligence as follows: "It can be defined as the ability to perform functions related to mental processes such as decision making, semantics, generalization, learning and benefiting from experiences, which are generally assumed to be human-specific qualities consisting of computers, software, integrated chips."

Prof. Dr. Cetin Elmas stated that artificial intelligence is a program that can never have soul-related characteristics such as consciousness, mind, comprehension, emotion, but can imitate them with the programming of a person with these characteristics. In 1997, the chess program 'Deep Blue' defeated world chess champion Garry Kasparov. Toy robots were introduced in the 2000s. The 2010s were the golden age of artificial intelligence."

Prof. Dr. Elmas pointed out what the developments and innovations in artificial intelligence will bring in the future, mentioning that robots will now do our previous work, that 70-80% of today's jobs will disappear in the next 2020s, and that robots will start doing some of the work that humans already do in many factories. Prof. Dr. Çetin Elmas said: "Less lawyers will be needed, electric cars will be very common in the 2020s, most car companies will bankrupt, there will be no driver's licenses, cities will change, parking lots will be turned into parks, traffic accidents will decrease, artificial intelligence systems will be our personal physician, 3D printers will change everything, robots will be ued in agriculture, everyone will have access to qualified training at the world level, we will not touch money, wars will be completely cyber"
