Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Ramazan Bayındır, Prof. Dr. Bekir Buluç, Prof. Dr. Fazlı Polat, Dean of Gazi Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. Mahmut Selvi and faculty members attended the panel.

Yıldız, who said that they were very happy that Azerbaijani Ambassador to Ankara Hazar İbrahim took the time to participate in the program, thanked Prof. Dr. Selma Yel, Director of Atatürk's Principles and History Research and Application Center, who organized the panel, and everyone who, contributed to the program.
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız stated that until Azerbaijan takes back Upper Karabakh Gazi University will try to express its rightful cause in all kinds of scientific platforms and keep it on the agenda in the public opinion of Turkey and the world community.
Hazar İbrahim: We Waited 30 Years We Don't Wait Another 30 Years
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Ankara Hazar İbrahim said Armenia has occupied Upper Karabakh, which has been Azerbaijani territory for 30 years, ignoring international law, and as if that were not enough, has attacked innocent civilians.
Referring to the years of ethnic cleansing in the region, Armenian families from European countries such as France have been brought to the region, İbrahim said, "We know that there are former ASALA members among them. The main thing is to seize the rich resources of the region. This area has been very rich in gold mines since the USSR. The Armenians missed a ton of these gold during that time. Although we told many international institutions such as UNESCO about our situation, we could not find enough support. Today, only Turkey, the sister country, is supporting Azerbaijan."
İbrahim: Karabakh is Azerbaijani Territory
İbrahim said that they are in favor of peace but will defend their rights to the end, adding, "Missiles are being fired at us from the territory of Armenia. Armenia is provoking us to enter their country. We're right about our case, but we need to get this right. It was different in the '90s, but today we have the strength to fight. It is very important that Turkey, the sister country, is with us. Turkey is a global power today. We are in favor of peace, but we do not allow Armenia to use it against us. We have waited 30 years; we will not wait another 30 years."
Prof. Dr. Selma Yel mentioned the history of the two countries, noting that Karabakh has been occupied by Armenia for 30 years and that it is unlawful. Yel said that until the 1930s in the USSR, our Azerbaijani brothers and sisters were mentioned as Turks, but together with Stalin, this was changed to Azeri. The people of Azerbaijan are Turks. Together with Stalin, the Turkish expression was removed, and the Azeri expression began to be used."
In his speech, our Rector, who chaired the panel, sent the following message to the public: "If you react when innocent civilians die in different parts of the world, we now expect you to react to what happened in Upper Karabakh. As the Rector and a scientist of Gazi University, we will continue to support Azerbaijan. We stand with Brother Azerbaijan."
On the other hand, the opening of the poetry exhibition with photographs was held at the Museum of Painting and Sculpture of our University. Our Rector Prof. Dr. Yıldız and Hazar İbrahim held the opening together.
Recently, our University reacted by hanging Turkish and Azerbaijani flags on the Rector's building with the principle of "one nation, two states" in order to condemn Armenia's attack on defenseless civilians with weapons, while our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız stated that they would continue to carry out activities in support of Azerbaijan's rightful cause.
