The "Project Opportunities for Academics and Entrepreneurs within the Scope of the European Union" Conference, organized by our university's Project Coordination Application and Research Center, was held at the Faculty of Technology Taşkent Conference Hall.
The conference was attended by Vice Rector Prof. Serhat Karyeyen, Dean of the Faculty of Technology Prof. Musa Atar, faculty members, and academics from our university.
In his opening speech, Prof. Serhat Karyeyen stated that the event would address opportunities for both academics and entrepreneurs within the scope of European Union funds. Emphasizing the importance they place on EU funds due to the university's status as a research university since they took office, Prof. Serhat Karyeyen explained that the program would provide information on the opportunities available within the 2021–2027 vision and the necessary steps during project applications. Vice Rector Prof. Serhat Karyeyen concluded his speech by thanking Bülent Özcan, Director General for Financial Cooperation and Project Implementation at the Directorate for EU Affairs, for his participation in the program.
Bülent Özcan, Director General for Financial Cooperation and Project Implementation at the Directorate for EU Affairs, highlighted that Gazi University, with its deep-rooted history, is one of Turkey's 23 research universities and emphasized the importance of contributions from faculty members to enhance Turkey's benefit from EU funds. Bülent Özcan provided information on EU funds and project opportunities for universities, such as the Jean Monnet Program, the Education, Employment and Social Policy Program, Bilgeiş, the Human Resources Development Program Authority, Horizon Europe Program, Erasmus+ Program, and the European Solidarity Corps.
Following the presentation, Vice Rector Prof. Serhat Karyeyen presented certificates of appreciation to Bülent Özcan and Prof. Elçin Özgür Büyükatalay, Director of our university's Project Coordination Application and Research Center.
