A commemoration ceremony was held at our university on the occasion of the 82nd anniversary of the passing of the founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk to eternity. Our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Bekir Buluç, Prof. Dr. Ramazan Bayındır, deans of faculties and directors of institutes, academic staff, administrative staff and students attended.
The ceremony, which began with the laying of a wreath at Atatürk Monument by our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız, continued with the moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem from 09:05 a.m.
Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız said that we commemorate Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk with longing, respect and gratitude in his speech at the ceremony. Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız stated that we are experiencing the same sadness on 10th of November every year, "The important thing is to be able to keep their thoughts and their ideas alive while we are commemorating them. Hopefully, as our esteemed instructors, as our students, we will take care of his thoughts and ideas more from now on. We would be a worthy university to him. I would like to thank you very much for your participation. I commemorate Gazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and his fellow fighters with mercy and gratitude."
