In cooperation with our university and the Ministry of National Education, the Selection and Placement of Students to be Sent Abroad for Graduate Studies (YLSY) Scholarship Program Meeting was held.

The meeting held in the New Senate Hall of the Rectorate which was live streamed on Zoom was attended by; Our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Bekir Buluç, Prof. Dr. Ramazan Bayındır and Prof. Dr. Fazlı Polat, Ministry of Education Higher Education and Foreign Education General Director Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız, Ministry of Education Foreign Education and Training Department Director Tuba Korkmaz, Education and Foreign Relations Institution Coordinator Prof. Dr. İhsan Kalenderoğlu, Educational and Foreign Relations Institution  Assistant Coordinator and YLSY Scholarship Program Coordinator Assoc. Dr. Aslıhan Selcen Bingöl, YLSY Scholarship Program Coordinator unit staff member Fadime Kullep, academics and students.

The opening speech of the meeting was made by our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız. After thanking Ministry of Education Higher Education and Foreign Education General Director Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız for attending this meeting, Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız spoke as follows: "The purpose of our meeting is to listen to the speeches of our brothers and sisters who will replace us in the future and take into account their questions, opinions and wishes. Gazi University is like a 96-year-old giant plane tree. Hopefully, this is the place you will return to when you complete the programs in the countries you have visited. We want you to raise yourself well. I would like to thank our General Director, Head of Department, you, our valued brothers and sisters, academics of our University and our friends who organized this meeting”.

In his speech Ministry of Education Higher Education and Foreign Education General Director Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız stated, " I hope this is the start to a long tradition with Gazi University and Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız. In the series of meetings held with Gazi University and other universities, nearly 21 thousand scholars have been sent abroad in cooperation with universities and Ministry of Education scholarship holders. On behalf of Gazi University, you are at a very important strategic point in the countries you are currently in. We select and send students in line with the number of quotas appointed in the fields determined and notified to us by the universities. Their programs and placements have now taken place. I hope we will organize a meeting with them on March 21-24, 2022, which will be attended by our President. In particular, the purpose of this meeting is, as our Rector has stated, after you complete your education abroad and return, you will undertake this duty at Gazi University, one of the most prestigious and well-established universities in our country. In this sense, we wanted to come together with both you and your advisors. We will hold such meetings with other universities in the coming period.  I would like to thank Gazi University Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız for hosting this event and wish you all success.”

After the opening speeches, the suggestions, opinions and wishes session began. Our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız and Ministry of Education General Director Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız answered the questions of scholarship students and academic advisors. In addition, suggestions and wishes of the participants concerning postgraduate and doctoral education and post-education studies abroad were evaluated.
