According to a statement made by URAP (University Ranking by Academic Performance) on March 27, 2017, which annually announces the global ranking and science domain ranking to help determine the strong and developmental aspects of universities, Gazi University was included in 9 of 10 international rating institutions. Also, our university entered the list in 13 fields according to the latest report released on May, 15, 2017.

According to the statement made by the URAP laboratory of the METU Informatics Institute in Turkey on March 27, Gazi University was one of the 5 universities in our country which entered the ranking among all the universities which was made by the 10 international rating institutions (Webometrics, SCIMago, US News and World Report, QS, CWUR, CWUR, RUR and ARWU) METU Informatics Institute URAP laboratory).

While our university became the third largest university of our country in terms of its success in its academic area, it also entered the list in the fields of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Dentistry, Medicine and Health Sciences, Pharmacology, Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Material Engineering and Mechanical Engineering in the scientific field ranking list of international ranking institutions.

According to the URAP rating, our university became the 3rd in the field of Materials Engineering, 4th in the fields of Mechanical Engineering and Electrical-Electronics Engineering, 6th in the fields of Medicine, Health Sciences, Biology, Pharmacology and Dentistry, 7th in the field of Civil Engineering, Physics and Mathematics, and 8th in the field of Chemistry in Turkey. In total, our university was ranked among the 500 universities in worldwide.

In the whole world, universities around the world are ranked according to 41 different areas, and college administrators, academics and university students closely follow these world rankings. URAP evaluation of universities' are made according to the number of articles and citations in the last five years in the InCites data base, the impact of articles and citations in the field and international collaborations. These are taken as criteria.
