V. National Olive Student Congress Has Been Held

'V. National Olive Student Congress' has been held in cooperation with Gazi and Ankara Universities and developments in the olive cultivation that holds a significant place in the national economy were discussed in detail. The opening of the congress was held on 12 May in Ankara University Congress Hall. 'Quality in Olive and Olive oil' and 'Employment Issues in Olive Cultivation and Solution Suggestions' were discussed. The presentations were on farming, plant conservation, economy, table olive and olive oil and Prof. Dr. Yahya Lalelide, who is a mover and shaker of the industry, talked about various issues and problems.

 

 

The congress took three days and the second day sessions were held at Gazi University Mimar Kemaleddin Hall on 13 May. After the presentation of Pharmacist Atilla Totoş on 'The Functional Aspects of Olive Oil', the presentations on 'Gastronomy, Olive oil and Health' were done. Congress participants were also given training in olive oil tasting.
