Gazi University started working to host the International Special Olympics

A protocol has been concluded between Gazi University and the Turkish Committee of the International Special Olympics, reaching up to 4.4 million special athlete and aiming to provide them with opportunities to become respected and productive individuals in the society, gathering them together with other people in the sports and social events so as to include the individuals requiring special education in the pace of life via 225 institutions in 170 countries all around the world. 




The cooperation protocol between the Special Olympics Turkey and our university to enhance the cooperation was signed by Mehmet Civelek, the Chair of the Executive Board of the Special Olympics Turkey and our Rector, Prof. Dr. İbrahim Uslan.

“We continue our cooperations so as to include our special children in the social life. We are happy to embark on other projects with the support of Gazi University. I extend my gratitude to Gazi University and its administration to open its doors to us and enthusiastically taking part in our works.” said Mehmet Civelek, the Chair of the Executive Board of the Special Olympics Turkey in the speech at the signature ceremony.



Statin that Gazi University has a successful cooperation with the Special Olympics Turkey, Gazi University Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Uslan said “We are ready to give our best effort to integrate our special children to the society and introduce them with the outer world. We have begun our studies with Special Olympics Turkey in this field a long time ago. We will enhance the contribution of our university to be able to reach more children.”

Along with the Little Athletes project that has been implemented with the support of our university this year, our university will host a number of activities after the agreement signed for the aim of reaching a higher number of special athletes.
