Our Sports Science Faculty Student Won the World Championship In Taekwondo

In 10. Taekwondo Poomse World Championship which was organized by World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) on 29 September-2 October in Lima, the capital of Peru, our 4th year student in Sports Science Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Department, Elif Aybüke Yılmaz who raced in ages 18-30 individual category won the golden medal and became the world champion.

At the same time, our student Yılmaz was also given the ''most valuable female athlete '' award.

The championship held in Lima, there were 7600 athletes from 55 countries and Turkey was represented by 36 athletes; 20 males, 16 females. Turkey won 5 golden, 4 silver, 7 bronze medals in the championship and achieved great success as second in the world in overall ranking after South Korea.
