Gazi Technopark in Canada

Gazi Informatics Cluster, which operates under the Economy Ministry's "UR-GE Communication" since May 2015 with the participation of 24 companies, organized the marketing activities in Canada- Toronto between 21-28 April 2018. The organisation, which is the the first trade delegation from Turkey's information-based activities, was realized with the participation of 21 representatives of the 11 firms from Turkey and under the leadership of Gazi Technopark General Manager Tuğrul İmer and the Coordinator of the cluster Rıza Yolaçan.

 

 

The Gazi Informatics Cluster organized three marketing activities in the USA in 2016 and in the USA and Taiwan in 2017. In the context of these activities, the institutions and organizations were visited, investor talks and approximately 150 B2B meetings were held.

As a continuation of the commercial activities of the North American market, Toronto was chosen as the city's target market as Canada has a technology and financial base and the start-up ecosystem has a sound foundation here.

Within the framework of the activity, Ontario Ministry of Foreign Trade, Barrie Chamber of Commerce, Brampton Chamber of Commerce were visited and B2B negotiations were held with members. Waterloo University, The Accelerator Center, Communitech Hub, Velocity Garage, DMZ Zone and MaRS were also visited, which have important locations within the technology transfer and start-up ecosystem. In addition, a panel was organized with Turkish entrepreneurs working and / or working in the Toronto region hosted by the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey Mr. Erdeniz Sen and Trade Agency Mr. Mehmet Ekizoğlu.

Because of the first visit of the Turkish delegation to the ICT field in Canada; on his visit to Barrie, where the media showed special interest, the Canadian CTV television had a private interview with Gazi Teknopark General Manager Tuğrul İmer. Investor talks with our firms during the activity and more than 60 B2B meetings were held. In 2018, Gazi Informatics Cluster  continues its efforts to organize trade delegations especially for the European market without any interruption and continues to exert efforts to keep the contribution of our country to the export figures intensively.
