“Teaching Turkish as Foreign Language Certification Program” launched at Gazi University TÖMER

“Teaching Turkish as Foreign Language Certification Program” organized in cooperation with Yunus Emre Institute has been launched at Turkish Language Learning Research and Application Center (TÖMER) of Gazi University. The program, prepared for the trainees desiring to gain experience within the field of teaching Turkish as a foreign language, will be held between December 12th, 2016 – January 6th, 2017.

The opening ceremony was held with the participation of Assoc. Prof. Nezir Temür, the Director of Gazi University TÖMER, and Kerim Sarıgül, the Director of Yunus Emre Institute’s Center for Teaching Turkish on December 12th, 2016. In the opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Nezir Temür expressed their happiness to share the knowledge and experience of Gazi University with trainees and stated that the trainees would significantly benefit from the trainings provided by the academic staff and experts during the seminars and they would be trained by experienced lecturers in the internship courses; then wished success for all the trainees.

 

 

Kemal Sarıgül, the Director of Yunus Emre Institute’s Center for Teaching Turkish expressed that Yunus Emre Institute was making progress day by day in the field of teaching Turkish to the world and stated that it currently had 50 centers in 40 countries, teaching Turkish to thousands of people within their own countries and representing Turkish culture. He also said that teaching Turkish was not only providing language skill acquisition but also establishing friendships between individuals and societies. Expressing their happiness about organizing this certification program which meets a major need in the field of teaching Turkish, Sarıgül also extended his gratitude to Gazi University for its cooperation and wished success for the trainees.

 

    

The trainees will receive theoretical and practical education during the 4-week program. Academic staff expertized in their fields will provide seminars in different subjects within the scope of the program. After the evaluation of the seminars and practice exams, the trainees who successfully completes the training will receive their certificates in the closing ceremony on January 6th, 2017.
