"Workshop on Increasing the Interdisciplinary Working Capacity in The Field of Health Sciences " Has Taken Place

The "Workshop on Increasing the Interdisciplinary Working Capacity in the Field of Health Sciences" organized by the Research and Development Institutional Coordinator of our University was held online. In addition to our Rector, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ramazan Bayındır, Director of the Institute of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Yasemin Dündar, Research and Development Institutional Coordinator Prof. Dr. Zeynel Seferoğlu, Academic Writing, Application and Research Center Director Assoc. Dr. Cemal Çakır, Director of Neuroscience and Neurotechnology Center of Excellence Prof. Dr. Hayrunnisa Bolay Belen, Photonics Application and Research Center Director Prof. Dr. Süleyman Özçelik, Director of Life Sciences Application and Research Center Prof. Dr. Orhan Canbolat, Faculty of Technology Faculty Member Assoc. Dr. Fecir Duran, faculty members and students attended the workshop.

Making the opening speech of the workshop, our Rector Prof. Dr. Yıldız pointed out that Gazi University is an institution that has gained the research qualification, and said “Therefore; immediately after taking office, we set our goal in increasing quality as well as quantity of research activities. We have started working to develop our university's national and international partnerships. With 95 years of a successful history, Gazi University has an important place among universities, in our country and in the world, in the field of health sciences as it does in every field. We always aim beyond our current position. In the field of health sciences, we care about increasing capacity in international, project-based research, industry collaborations, entrepreneurship and interdisciplinary collaborations in the upcoming period.

Addressing the students, Prof. Dr. Yıldız stated, “We know that you have chosen Gazi University to receive quality education, to be one step ahead academically and to achieve your goals. By providing you with the best training, we are working day and night with the aim of contributing to the qualified workforce that our country needs. Digital transformation and technological developments in the field of health sciences require constant updates in your education. For this reason, we continue our efforts to adopt new approaches in the educational curriculum and to strengthen the laboratory and information technology infrastructure of our university. You will work hard to achieve your goals, we will support you as your professors and university administrators."

Pointing out that they are working for a new system, our Rector Prof. Dr.  Yıldız said, “I believe that we will carry out studies in line with the targets we set in the coming period with our qualified academic staff, research university identity and research infrastructure. The use of the Academic Data Management System (AVESİS) has started. This year, we are performing academic incentive application and evaluation processes more effectively with the Academic Incentive Management System (ATÖSİS). This way, original projects will be included in the priority support content. Scientific Research Projects Process Management System (BAPSIS) will be available in a short time. With the implementation of the BAPSIS system, a performance-based project application system will be implemented”.

Prof. Dr. Yıldız emphasized that interdisciplinary studies bring international success, and said, “We expect our academic units and application and research centers to do interdisciplinary work together in the same ecosystem. In our workshop, by using the research and development infrastructure of our university, opinions will be shared in order to conduct interdisciplinary studies in the field of health sciences. I would especially like to thank Prof. Dr. Ramazan Bayındır, Prof. Dr. Yasemin Dundar and Prof. Dr. Zeynel Seferoğlu and all my teammates who contributed in the preparation of this workshop."

The R&D infrastructure of Our University, which aims to of carry out interdisciplinary studies in the field of health sciences with academic units and application and research centers, was introduced in the workshop

In the workshop, academic staff and undergraduate and graduate students in the field of health sciences were introduced to the research infrastructure of our University and information was given on project collaborations.
